8/22/2017 7:40:43 PM" Hey man. Not trying to bust your balls on the post. Just saying i've fished the Cascade for 15 years. Unless you get an aggressive biter on eggs or sometimes jigs, where they swallow the hook and you get more meat on the hook......... they're flossed or snagged. Not intentionally or anything, but that's just what happens. Those fish are some of the hardest fighting kings you'll ever find anywhere. In those situations, a 50% landing ratio is the absolute best you'll see with 25% being normal. I used to step up to 40# braid with 25# leaders and 2/0-3/0 hooks.
That lowest hole next to the log is the best, but don't be afraid to fish the tailout of that run below the bridge above the hatchery. That thing used to pump out tons of fish back in the day.
All that being said, try not to post too much about the skagit and cascade up there. As you've seen, there's not many really good holes so a couple people can ruin your day of fishing. Word of mouth gets enough people up there. It doesn't need the internet letting people know about it too.
Get real, You want to keep the river to yourself so be it, don't tell me to sensor myself........ The data is FLAWED and inaccurate as its can be, the numbers dwindle this time of year yes, plain and simple click and you can see the past years run..... I'm no newbie to the baker lake or the skagit.... I was newer to the cascade and I clearly stated that........
