Had the Wiun party out of the Edmonton area for an evening trip. I had been trying to find a consistent producing pattern with Manson Bay being OK, but not quite good enough. Took our good luck charm, Pepe' Hernandez out with my grand daughter to try the doughnut hole after spending a couple hours working the face of Manson Bay for 5 bites and 3 in the box. We cruised over the hole and it was loaded. Dropped the gear and Bang! doubles. Turned, and bang! Doubles. lost one and I said: "good enough". let's go. Took the Wiun's out the next night and said I thought I had a spot worked out. We worked that pinnacle (the doughnut hole) for an hour and put six in the box and lost 4! That's pretty good Mack fishing. Of course, Mother Nature gets a vote and the afternoon wind came out and made hitting the spot difficult, but we got another 5 in the next 2 hours. Then the wind shifted for the 4th time and came out of the SouthEast. We faded into Manson Bay and got two more on a double. The bite died and we went in to take a pic and clean fish. Had to gill and gut some instead of filleting because of border regs... What a lovely family and an evening of playing whack a Mack on Chelan!
