Three of us jumped in my friends boat and headed up the Snohimish this morning around 7 am from the Everett Marina. Played around a bit near Langus, but nothing. Headed into a couple side channels by Spencer Island, and nothing. Eventually headed towards Snohomish.

Started seeing loads of people fishing, from boat and on shore, around Rotary Park. Also started to see a few rollers. Carried past a lot of anglers and eventually anchored. We all cast pink jigs , but had no luck. Then, during the magical hour everyone keeps talking about (the first hour after high tide where everyone else seems to be catching) I swapped out to a pink buzz bomb. After a few casts, a couple pinks came rolling by us on the surface withing casting distance and I dropped my BB right in front of their path. Fish on within a couple seconds. It fought like a devil, but a few minutes later I netted my only catch of the day, a 5 lb buck. First one landed of the season for me (after loosing two earlier this week).

As I was bleeding my catch, one of my friends dropped his jig into another school and had a fish on. Another good fight, netting him his own 5 lb buck. Maybe 20 min later he hooked up again to a smaller 3 lb buck that panicked at the boat and jumped well over eye level out of the water. Somehow managed to keep it from spitting the hook, and we landed it.

Three bucks in total between the three of us when we had to leave at 11am. All were pretty and silver still. There were still loads of rollers, and we saw several other people catching as we drove out.
