New member, will try this site for a while and see how it goes.

Been fishing Area 11 out of Des Moines just about everyday for the past 2 weeks, after work in the evening for a couple of hours and every Sat/Sun Morning until about 11am.
Haven't been skunked yet.... .

New to the area from Area 7 out of Bellingham. Live in Des Moines, boat is in the Des Moines Marina in a dry shed but have a covered slip for a couple of months. 19' runabout, two scotty's.

Been fishing North Point (just north of the Marina), 3TreePt, Robinson Pt and shoreline just north of the point (yellow house that's not yellow anymore) and once in a while Redondo.

Have caught pinks, silvers (even a hook nose 8 pounder) and smaller chinook. Haven't had to release any 22"+ chinook, all hatchery. All in the 7 to 14 pound range but have lost at least one in the high teens.

As late as yesterday evening, picked up another small king trolling in 85fow at 80ft on the wire at Robinson Pt way after tide change. Hardware. Keep eye on electronids, always moving up or down and zig zagging to find and stay on fish and/or bait.

Only fishing for a few hours each evening and off the water way before sunset.

Great report. Thanks for the info. I will be out there Thursday and Friday mornings. Any particular set up working better than another? The last time I was out I pulled hoochies and spoons with food success.

Seems both are working but one tip would be to take a real squid, cross cut a section of the tube then cut that to lay it flat, perform a long diagonal cut to get two triangular pieces. Tip your front hook of your hoochie with the narrow piece. Seems green/glow and purple hoochies are working along with kingfisher/coyote/coho killer spoons but fishing at the right depth putting it in front of them is the key, The chinook are striking out of impulse as we have not opened up one king with anything other than an empty stomache. Abosulutely empty. Lots of action, 50 - 130dow and using your electronics to find fish, no so much bait...I know it sounds strange but these fish aren't eating.

Wendsday evening, went out with my fishing buddy for two hours. We picked up a 12lb Hatchery king right away on a spoon at Robinson at around 5pm. Not bad for two hours fighting the grass once again. 85 fow, 80 ft on wire. I fish close intot he point, everyone else seems to stay out in the traditional 110 to 300 fow.

Stvno1, I agree with you, I've cleaned a few kings in the past week and absolutely nothing in the stomach's even though there was tons of bait around where I was fishing. Really strange

Yesteray 8/30/17, fishing buddies at the docks were picking up kings at Robinson and in front of the Saltwater State Park in 85 ft. Seems the purple haze hoochie is now the craze.

I only got out for an hour as I got called back to shore from the Sheriff's office to pick up my truck. They found my truck in White Center (imagine that) after it was stolen early Saturday morning out of my condo parking lot in Des Moines. I found it missing leaving the condo at 4:30, still went fishing after Des Moines police left. Got a nice chinook, and the police arrested two idiots.

Been catching small and large silvers lately. Along North Point shoreline and even picked up a 9.5# hatchery hen silver in front of the pier last week. Last evening, 9/5/17, picked up two small silvers after work trolling both a squid and coho killer.
