I've been reading reports for months now... I finally caught a pink salmon and it took me a few days to actually report it !
Caught a nice pink salmon after about 40 min of casting. This was with a pink hoochie with white head and a bit of shrimp scent.

I got to the river at about 6:50 and the fish were nowhere to be found. Finally got a bit at around 7:30. A few minutes after, got another bite and after a few seconds of fighting, it got away. I had to go to work so left by 7:50. The guy next to me got another bite but couldn't land it. I've been going there a few days already and there's been little action. I've seen them jump, I've seen a couple of guys get 1 or 2 fish, but nothing spectacular.

Dinner was great, so I hope to catch at least one more before the season finally dies down. That was my first salmon ever so I was PRETTY excited ! Hoping to get a coho later ! tight lines !

Great job on your first ever Salmon! Hope you get another, keep and cure the eggs for silvers.
I went out Saturday, found a school and was in the middle for an hour or so and couldn't buy a bite........pretty bizarre. I have never been in a school and not been able to get a bite. I keep several rods set up so I'm not just throwing the same thing at them. Tried dick nites in several variations and different jigs, squid and marabou. With scent and without. The school I saw was fairly large with decent sized fish. When I was pulling my boat out I talked to a guy who spent 14 hour day on the river and only got one bite, nothing landed.

Thanks ! I was ecstatic !!
Now I can´t wait to get the next one. Great tip on the eggs for silver ! I´ll google what to do with them, I was going to eat them, but I rather use them to get a SILVER ! see you out there !
