After a couple of trips not worth reporting - in other words, poor fishing...I thought I'd report an average day on the lake. After trouble launching and crossed downrigger wire and a couple hooks in fingers I got down to fishing. After an hour with no hits, a nice 16" cut ripped the line from the clip and proceeded to jump out of the water 3-4 times. Putting the net in the water he jumped once more, I was able to net him while in the air.
Except for a small one released, nothing happened until an hour later. Then two were caught back to back within 5 minutes. Chartreuse wedding ring tipped with worm and Ford Flashers seemed to work well today. Most in about 45' of water.
That was it for the day. Moved into the stumps on the south side looking for some perch. One smallie and one bluegill caught and released.
Not a great day, but beat working on the "to do list" at home.
Smoke was so bad you could hardly see the west side of the lake from the launch.
