Had a nice day on Lake Sammamish. First catch was a smallmouth bass while trolling toward the stumps with a Mack's Lures Wiggle Hoochie. I stopped paddling and dropped the Ned Rig down. Caught two pikeminnows pretty quickly. The first one was 17" and he put up a good fight. Worked the area some more with the Ned Rig and got hit again. It was putting up another good fight. Saw the silver flash and thought it was a pikeminnow again. Nope, landed a 17" cutthroat trout on the Ned Rig! He got away from me before I could take the pic. Ugh! Finished the day with another 10" trout.

Sounds like fun. Thanks for the report. I hope you are killing the pike minnow that you are catching. They play havoc on the fingerlings the hatchery releases and also on the native species that spawn in and around the lake. Just give em a good bonk in the head before you kick em back. Thanks

i love how people always preach the gospel of killing off all pikeminnow like they aren't a native species themselves

I'm not into killing fish that I don't take home to eat.
