Launched out of Shilshole and fished the bay in front of the marina. Didn't have to go far!! 7 hook ups released 5 natives and kept limit. Used the 4oz banana weight again with green flasher and pink 4.0 coyote spoon. About 70 boats or so but lots of room to fish.

It is best not to say how many natives you release, because the WDFW count those toward the salmon Quota

Lots of unmarked fish. Yesterday. my score was four unmarked and one marked. My buddy got two marked. First year in my memory that we have had to release unmarked fish in 10 or in 8&9 when they were open. Considering the likely high mortality involved with releasing unmarked Coho, it makes no sense to me. I hope this is not going to continue in the future, it is dumb. Should keep the first two Coho you get and no C&R. Coho are just too wild and crazy to release safely even with barbless.

Is mortality really very high for adult coho in saltwater with barbless hooks?

Whoops! Didn't know that! Thought the regs just say release all wild fish. Good to know

Did they all come on the 4oz banana weight rig? How much line do you leave between the weight and the flasher?

Caught all fish on the banana rig. 2ft leader from weight to flasher and 30 inch leader to spoon
