I planned on getting to the launch at 8am since I couldn’t be sure that the gate would be open. I had my lines in the 66 degree water at 8:40.
The launch had about 20 foot of dock left floating. It was at 1,186.1 feet of elevation (maximum of 1,207 feet) the pictures reflect what it looks like at this level.
The sun and mountain were hidden by the smoke from the fires in eastern Washington. It was about 60 outside and there was a cold front coming. I started to see the mountain about 9:30-10am.
I got my first bite about 10 minutes after starting. I was kept pretty busy. They only came on the Orange and Gold with the orange copper dodger. About 10:30am all bites stopped. That was about the time a BIG boat came out to go fast from the docks. I was nearby and when it took off I was faced with 3-4 foot waves I thought was going to bury my bow. I was nervous when it came back but it was on plane so there was barely a wave.
I caught about 10 or more crappie. I lost tract. Only 1 trout. The video shows the low visibility. The easiest to see is about 11 feet down, dark green is 17-20 feet down. Since the snow has been melting the water is silty.
I decided to quit at 11:30 and started the big motor to cruise a little and that is when the wind came up. I got home and unloaded before the rain started.
