Well the boy's and myself decided to hit the opener and had high hopes. We will make this short, started fishing and kept switching things up used the whole tackle box and only had one bite. My son lost it half way to the boat, he fishes about 3 times a year. No big deal it happens that's fishing. We kept trying till 2:30pm and I had enough. We did see 4 fish caught by trolling boats. There were many boats out and many of them were jigging and driving like crazy people to find the schools, did not see any of them catch one fish.......Maybe this rain will help. We did see a few rollers on top but nothing like years past. We were trolling 3 DR with dodgers, or spoons, wedding rings, hoochies, and herring. Only bite came on a hoochie. Might go back to the salt.....lol.

it can be tough for sure. No nets out yet? I won't be getting to fish Lake WA this year, bummer.

There are or were lots and lots of Coho in MA10. Since 9/7 I've been out 6 times and limited the boat 5 times. Part of the problem with the Lake is tribal nets. They have had their nets in the ship canal since 9/10, so I expect they have taken a load of fish. Nets go in north Lake Wash on 9/24.

Yes Mike it was tough let's hope it get a bit better with time. BArchaser1 did not know about the nets in the ship canal so yes they are taking more then there share. There have not been a ton in the counts thru the locks. We have fished area 10 with great success just wanted to try the opener as one of my sons does not have his salt license and wanted to fish. My gut said area 10 but wanted both my boys to go so lake wa it was. Going to try and hit area 10 this week and fill the freezer with some tasty coho.........

Actually last Saturday was slow for us in MA10. Took my 5 year old Grandson out last Sat for his first fishing trip and his Dad was also along. It was slow, a few takedowns but only one in the boat, a 9 pound male. Not many nets flying. Then about 2, my main motor took a dump, electrical problem, appmt to get it fixed on Thurs so no fishin this week.

Surprising. I really expected Lk Wash to be good this year, even with the nets, since so many Coho out in MA-10.

I caught two as a 'by catch' last week in the south end of the lake so had high hopes but went out later North of the 520 and had few bites but no Coho. Sure was a lot of fish showing though!

I fished the Lake for Coho also. I'm a troller in a 19 ft Alumaweld. Our only excitement was the big boats screaming by at god knows what speed. I'll give it a try in another few days. Only took me 20 minutes from the Atlantic ramp to Hunts Pt.
