Put in at 10-30 am at Bennett Bay area. Trolled Bennett Bay to Higgens Point and back. Many boats on the water in procession. Prob' taking advantage of the hot bite and the impending spawn. The bite was fast and furious and I limited out in no time, being kept very busy trolling from my kayak. I was trolling .8-1.4 mph, 1 rod from a down-rigger leaving the ball at 70ft and using a Shuttle Hawk to get down to the depth. This setup was a 4" pink and white dodger and a pink mini hoochie and pink spinner with anise scent and pink corn. 2nd rod was long-lined with a 2oz weight on a slider, Macks Hot Wings and a Macs Kokanee Killer with anise scent and pink corn 90 ft back. Both were affective. Marked almost continuous schools all along the lake at 45-65 ft, later in the afternoon getting some coming shallower at 25 ft. Average size was 10". They are starting to change now pre spawn. Compared to 4 days ago there was lots of color change, slimy and harder to get clean filets off and some had quite mushy flesh. So get them while you can. I'm thinking that for me its time to start looking for Trout and other species.
Tight Lines.
