I headed down to the river right after work again. There were rollers every so often. Drift fished just after low tide and into the beginning of the incoming. Flow was still going downstream. A bunch of jacks early on but they were pretty scrappy on 6lb line and an ultra light rod. Kept 2 I hooked deep, one was right at 19". Bite slowed until I changed out scents. Went 4/5 on adults. I released a rosy colored buck and kept 3 marginally brighter fish.

Sure do, it was an average day. It was by no means red hot.

Sure thing, check your inbox I sent you a detailed PM. You can go heavy on that seasoning powder I was telling you aboot. Took years of trial and error to figure out but it makes some great tasting eggs.

Hey Losaturn, I was wondering if I could inquire about what makes a great tasting egg? I've been using fire cure and just krill powder. I want to up my chances of catching and would like to learn from some of the seasoned veterans. Thank you in advance.

Nice catch man! You be slaying them on this part of the river. Been fishing the green/duwamish for awhile now. Its always a hit and miss for me. These fish are notorious for not biting. What's your secret? Lol awesome catch!

I've noticed that these fish usually prefer bait or chasing lures. Some days they want both at the same time...

Thanks for the report. Anyways reading your posts with great interest. Questions: how big is your gob of eggs when free drifting or under bobber? Any weight at all when free drifting maybe a split shot or two? Thanks

With Freedrifting, there is no weight besides your eggs. A light rod and light mainline helps a lot. The bait size I use is around a quarter size. You can go bigger, but I find smaller baits work better. Float fishing I use the same size bait as well. When there's enough current to drift eggs with additional weight I use about a nickel size bait.

What scent works at the green with eggs?

Anise or Garlic. Garlic works phenomenally some days and then other days won't garner so much as a nibble from the sculpin.
