Sammamish was VERY good to us Weds. Knocked it out of the park to say the least. Hooked up with buddy Pat Moore, finally got on the water about 8:30, traffic sucked.

Started at the launch and it was fish on immediately. Thought we were in for a short day but it was not to be. Fish were really scattered. Fished the east side from the launch all the way around to George Davis Creek and back!

We ran the box, Wedding Rings all colors, hoochies, spinners etc, but the only thing they hit on was the RMT Assassin orange/yellow, Sling Blade flasher and worm chunk w/12 inch leader. Ran a 16 inch leader for a while and nada. Shortened the leader and bada bing fish on. Luck and timing or did the short leader do the trick? Heck if I know. Depth from 35 feet in the morning to 45 feet in the afternoon. Got off the water about 2:30. Beautiful day, we made it to the dock just in time to get clobbered by a rain shower LOL.

Ended up with 10 fish to the boat, 17-20 inches and probably another 6 lost. Had to take 3 home but C&R the rest.

Tight lines.
Randy

What part of Sammamish were you on? South, North or Central part of the lake?

Great job! Thanks for the report! Funny last time on Sammamish it was the assassin that got the most of the hits for me too!

17' - 20" fish, is that large average size for Lake Sam? Or, normal for this time of year? And, nice to read that a keeper fish species was released. That has got to feel good.

Yeah it seems like 15-17 seems to be about average. 20 inch is exceptional! C&R is always good. Its a privilege to catch these fish. We really had to work hard, as it should be, had a great day.

Mr. Rmrauscher those are some beauties! this is a great time to get some prespawn hugies right now, I have heard of multiple fish in the 17-20" range lately. after fishing it relentlessly this summer i found the average size is 16-18", with a few in the 19-20" range being caught. besides assassin spinners, i saw some pics of people with plugs in a perch pattern, crushing it too!.

Just happen to have some Old Goat perch pattern plugs. If this freakin weather clears up will have to give them a try.
