Made it to the lake after lunch about 1:00 no hurry as the weather was about as nice as it could be for the end of Oct. Checking everything before leaving the launch watching which way everyone headed, remembering what I did last trip. So off to the Weather float , trying the gear that caught fish before, and not having any luck after a couple of hours , pulled out the 6' Shasta watermelon dodger and a multi colored squid and the worm at the end , starting deep and working upward in depth finding that 25' seemed to be the right spot. First hit and a quick wind up to the net 16" , now because I had no desire to keep any of the catch of the day smashed the barbs over on all hooks , this proved to be the easy way to unhook them ,never taking the net out of the water and with care as not to injure any, cleared the gear letting the fish rest a bit and simply turning the net over watching all the fish swim free with great vigor . One down 4 to go after a quick gear change a couple of laps and zig zaging another hook up solid this time, after netting and getting splashed with water ,looked into the net ya that's better 18+ " fighter for sure. Next! another one a few minutes later , same thing as the last 18+" . Making sharp turns both directions made the difference again another slam and reel to the net a big one again and yet one more time, how fun can it get . Trying for that last fish seemed to fizzle so , turning toward the launch wondering if one more fish was going to be caught . Nope didn't happen 4 for 5 worked for Me .
For a care free lazy afternoon I had a very good time , can hardly wait for the hot fishing coming in December Oh !boy hurry is it time yet?
the worm & the herring strips not to forget the UV dodgers & melon as well worked great , finding the 6" Shasta sliver Shark pattern and strips to be winner for this outing. Holding the trolling speed at 1.5 - 2.0 turns left and right letting the gear sink on the turn really worked.

Fantastic Report! yes, December is almost here which means Lake Sammamish for me too! awesome you got herring strips working! I fish the worms, pro cure scents, or just bare and slay them in all ways. I know herring kills it on Washington.

Hope to see you out there on the water this december for some lights out trout fishing!

Yes FastActionGS Dec won't come soon enough and will be a fun time for those who show and get to fish the lake ,if you have watched the video from last xmas time or just before with Mike and the rest of the crew not to forget Paul and his information well, that is reason enough to want to fish that lake .I did have a quick moment to talk to some old hands at fishing that lake on Sunday at the launch, gotta say their ideas and info and what you learn each time you fish ,well no need to go on !Even when you think you've figured it out ya always learn more, which makes you a better fisherman ,no such thing as to much information. When ya see a little green boat with the NWFR stickers on the side , that would be Me looking forward to meeting see ya on the pond come Dec.

Great report! Always nice when others share what they have been using to entice those fish to bite. Thanks for the tips!

I went out today and caught 4 in about an hour. All deeper. Just a sling blade and a krocodile spoon. Very fun and ferocious hits. I have tried the worm and other bait, but it is so easy and productive to just use spoons. All things seem to work if you just get it to the right depth. Thanks for the good report. Have fun out there!
