The weather was gorgeous on Lake Roosevelt. Fished on Friday and Saturday out of Spring Canyon which is about a mile upriver/lake from the Dam. Fishing was ok, not spectacular. My guess is the high pressure bothered some of the fish and the water is still really warm for this time of year at 61 degrees on the surface. Tried all kinds of things, trolling with dodger and wedding rings tipped with worm, hoochie with corn, even a rapala or two. Ended up with about 12 rainbows across three fisherman all ranging from 14 - 18". Most of the action was around 20', but there were a lot of fish marking at 50 - 80' as well. I did have an approximate 20" kokanee brought to the boat and flung the hoochie at the net which I hooked at 88' of water on a pink hoochie. First Koke of the year on the lake and didn't get in the boat, oh well. Had hits on most colors, but the better were pink and orange. During the slow periods I did throw out a rainbow colored rapala and caught two nice bows, so they were hitting near the surface as well.
Looking forward to more consistency as the temperature continues to drop and the fish move into the shallows and bays.
