Happy Halloween Folks!
Fishing on Lake Sammamish for cutthroat trout has been a little hit and miss as of late, but seems like there is always a way to put some fish in the boat out there!
The trout on the lake have been scattered out lately, but when they are found they are willing to bite. Reli Lures Diamond Flash Spinners tipped with nightcrawler, Micro Old Goats in silver tipped with crawlers or dipped in Super Dipping Sauce, or if I am fishing Scentless, i go to a God's Tooth trout spoons seem to be the hot lures on the lake early in the morning the 30-37ish depth range seems to produce well, then dropping down to about 45 feet towards the end of the day seems to be the ticket.
If you're considering making a trip to sammamish but aren't sold on the trout alone (which some are upwards of 20" right now) there is a Coho Salmon fishery open on the lake too. the limit is 4 per person.
Soon the winter days on the lake will be here and fishing will be absolutely spectacular!
December and January should be lights-out on the lake, which is a warm welcome compared to most fisheries across the state. If you haven't Checked out the NWFR fishing video on Lake Sammamish Cutties, Make sure to give it a peek to see what this lake has to offer! I am now booking trips for the winter fishery.
Tight Lines and Good Times to all.
