It's hard to top the excellent report by JoshH so will just mention a few details that may be of interest. God blessed with some excellent weather and great fishing as we kept 8 fish and released more on top of that. I was pleasantly surprised when JoshH caught a small Chinook! There is a midge hatch happening which we noticed some areas (particularly the coves) had good numbers of midges. The floating birds are a good indicator of midge activity so work in proximity if you can. The fish were scattered and not in the top 15' of the surface as we initially thought. All but 1 of the fish were caught at 25'. I wanted to use a new prototype red/white God's Tooth scheduled to be available in 2018 and almost all my fish were caught on this pattern. No dodgers were used until towards the end of our outing. JoshH had great success using a 50/50 gold God's Tooth kokanee trolling rig available at Reli Lures. Trolling speed seemed to be 2.5-3.0 mph and had a lot more action going with the current than against it.
Wanted to extend a big thank you to Quadfather for his report and Paul Lewis of Fast Action Fishing Adventures as both provided some very helpful information and motivating me to get out there:)
For those curious, we are excited to announce there will be 4 exciting new patterns of God's Tooth spoons for 2018. The official announcements and photos will be posted on our Facebook blog page and website.
The video below shows some of the action for the day from my perspective:)
