Headed back out to Offutt lake again with my buddy Lonzo and started fishing at 9 in the morning. We had a great day on the water even though it was overcast all morning. We found the fish on the surface down to 16 feet. Silver top gear with a Luhr-Jensen needlefish size 2 in a red dot frog pattern, and a deep diving gold crankbait were our topline rods. White/red head crankbait, and a green crankbait were used on the downriggers. One rod was set at 13 ft the other at 16 ft. Our best action was found trolling at about 1.6-1.7 mph. We hooked a lot of fish and got our limits gy noon. The trout averaged 14-15 inches with are larger fish hitting the 16 inch mark. The fish barely fit on my Yeti 105 for the picture. One thing to mention these rainbows have absolutely beautiful color to them, the pictures don't do the fish justice. I will be firing up the smoker tomorrow!

I discover Offutt this month last year (dock fishing) and I must say, some of the prettiest Bows out there and fat too! I did some dock fishing there in November as my Pontoon was being fixed and the fish were smaller than last winter. My guess that the Black Friday Plant included these bigger ones that you caught today. Great day! Question for ya? If I were to put my Pontoon in at the launch, could I get to some of the areas that you worked today, or the area across from the dock?

Yeah I don't see why you couldn't, we fished all around the lake but had the most success on the opposite side of the lake from the resort. we fished in 19-21 feet of water trolling in front of the houses and going about 300 feet past were the houses end then looping back around.

We went there after the fall plant only to find a horrible algae bloom. I'm assuming it has cleared up? When I contacted the health department they informed me they had run out of funds for water testing for the year and to fish "at your own risk".
