Met up with friend Scott and Ron and went to Roosevelt in Ron's boat. We launched at Seven Bays around 8:30 and there were a couple of boats ahead of us. We ran down river and started fishing along with three or four boats fishing the same area. The Orange Kekeda on the downrigger at 20' went off almost immediately, when we started, so I figured for sure we were into a hot bite. It was a beautiful wild rainbow and was safely released. Put the Kekeda back down and five minutes later it went off again; yahoo now we're into them. Not so fast, it all went dead for quite a while. Ron's purple RMT wiggle hoochie was the next one to catch a fish and accounted for several fish for the day. All rigs were either baited with shoepeg corn or artificial worms. We basically trolled kokanee gear hoping to catch one of the not so present kokes. None were caught for the day.

The bite, such as it was, died and we finally gave up and trolled back up river. Still no bites, we had about 5 nice rainbows in the cooler. We stopped at a bay to finish out the day and found some willing biters. They were caught on Orange Kokabow behind a Moon Jelly Arrowflash dodger, Ron's Purple hoochie rig and a dark colored fly Ron's son tied up for him. We finished out the day at 4:30 with 13 in the cooler and now for the fun ride back up river to the launch in the dark. Too much fun and you better have your GPS with a trail in it to find your way back!

Overall a great day like it always is at Roosevelt. Had a great time with friends, saw some awesome wild life and caught some beautiful fish. Life is good. See you all at the Puyallup Sportsman's Show.

Glad to see you got out Allan but I'm starting to think that the bows ate all the kokes! Give me a call when you get a chance.
