We got to Keller about 8 am and on the water. We ran two rods on top and one on a downrigger about 15 ft down. Had double hook wedding rings on with sling blades. Got a hit about ten minutes into our trip downriver. Picked up our first fish when the sun came out and was on the water. About a 17 inch hatchery rainbow. Caught another about the same size a few minutes later. Had a few more hits but nothing sticking. Then the wind came up and had us hunting calmer water. A couple hrs before dark we picked up another hatchery about 15 inch. Then we got about a 17 inch kokanee. Got that in the boat, put the rods back out . One of the rods got hit hard and we knew it was a good fish. Turned out to be a 21 and 3/4 inch kokanee. Nice fish. Got the rods out again . Rod goes off again and we land a 20 native rainbow. Fun to fight and release. Nice to see those kokanee. Ready for round 2 next week. Chartreuse was the color they were hitting.
