A very stormy day on Sunday, but on Monday morning things had calmed down a lot, so we headed back down to Lake Sammamish to try for some cutthroat trout. Cold day, down in the upper 20's but in our warm cabin we were able to get the temperature up to a suffocating 80 degrees. You can always tell our boat as we are the biggest one out on the lake but the most comfortable. Our 24 footer has advantages and disadvantages but in this type of weather in the middle of winter, you could not ask for more advantages. We put out our lines and then head for the cabin, check every few minutes to see if there is any action at the back of the boat and then reel them in every half hour or so to check for weeds or fish. On this day, we started at the boat launch and in the first hour and a half had a 15"er and a real nice 17"er in the boat by the time we hit the weather buoy. We trolled towards Redmond from there and in the next 3 hours caught 5 more fish for a total of 7 for the day. The weather was beautiful but cold, not much wind with several other boats out in the lake. The last 5 fish were 12-14" size with one mini at 8 or 9 inches, but all in all another great day down at the lake. We caught all fish between 10 and 20 feet deep and took a couple home that were probably too injured to live. No particular spot in the lake seemed to be better than any other, just trolling around until a fish hit. Looking forward to warmer weather and more fish on future trips. We love going here as it is only 15 minutes from home and has great size and action for cutthroat trout. I remember trout fishing my entire life until Lake Sammamish and the biggest trout we had ever caught in western Washington was 16 inches. Now we catch one that size or bigger almost every time out.

We were out on Tuesday. Pretty much ditto what you just said. Fish were scattered and mostly small. No rhyme or reason we could figure out. Got 6 to the net.
