Made first walleye trip of the year and it was a blast! Fished bottom bouncers and several spinner combinations in every color imaginable. Slight edge to a red Macks lure smile blade. Caught fish everywhere we tried in 28-33 ft of water. The wind was a challenge most of the day. First fish of day 26"+ fatty quickly released to get her spawn on. Boated 23 eyes total. Kept a couple 17-19" that were deep hooked for dinner. Released all the rest. Looking forward to hitting it again as soon as the weather allows.

I have not fished that section of the Columbia, always wanted to but intimidated by the sheer size of the area. IMO, the next state record walleye will come from that section of the river. Nice job, nice fish, great eats!

Those are really nice looking fish. Is there a boat launch near Wallula?

There is a launch upriver at hood park near the mouth of the Snake, a launch on the Finley side, and a launch on the Walla Walla river just upriver from its mouth.
