I hit Alice the past two days as yesterday was my first time on the lake. Monday was very nice but very windy so I fished close to the launch. I ended up with 6 trolling mostly on a Elgin Frog pattern and 3 on a Pink Trout Magnet in 3 hrs.

Today there was no one there except me. I trolled and got 16 today. Kastmasters did well trolling as I got 8 from 1/16, 1/8 Gold color and 1/8 Fire Red/Gold. The smaller 1/16 was the hot ticket. Some other hot lures were a size 70 Flo Or Hot Shot, a Silver Ultralight Rapala (my first ever fish caught on any Rapala) and at the end, #1 RedHead Copper Super Duper which really was working well. I also caught 3 on a Orange Trout Magnet.

Fish are small...9-11” and seem really small since I have not caught any fish under 14” for the past 5 Months.

I was trolling 20lbs braid with 5lbs Flourocarbon leader. One small split shot and a 4 bead swevil with a 7’6” Lamiglass Infinity UL and Shimano Stradic CI4+ 1000.

All the fish were caught down the left hand side shoreline from the launch. Near the launch (1st House) and 200 Yards or so past the yellow bouy markers with the later being the better of the two.

You bet. Why does Sportco not carry them?

I also fished this lake on Sunday for an hour. Landed over ten on my new fly rod, G Loomis IMX Pro. Sweet rod. The fly was an olive hale bob. Fun fish to land on a fly.

Fishon, what line, weight? Flourocarbon leader, length? Slow troll with fins, or stripping? I have Fly gear and I need to practice and this would be a good spot.

5 wt full sink. Tradional leader. Fishing 8 feet of water. Most hits when the fly started to sink. No trolling done. I like fishing full sink with leader and tippet around 12 to 14 feet in length. I feel the longer leader keeps the fly in the top three feet of the water column. Have fun and catch a lot of fish

I do not know why Sportco does not carry them. I have approached them a number of times in the past. Perhaps they might if a number of customers request they carry them. I hope sometime soon they will contact me. I get asked this question occasionally.
