Took off out of Seven Bays and headed towards Blue Creek to find some walleye. Hit the flats across from Blue Creek for a couple of passes and did not get any action, so we headed down towards Buoy 1. Trolled around with a chartreuse pill rig and a gold slow death hook rig in 15-30 FOW and landed a few small males. Headed up towards Buoy 2 and 3, but quickly figured out I did not want to deal with the faster current in the area, so back towards Buoy 1 we went.
Started drifting the Buoy 1 stretch and came up with the nice female in the picture above, on the gold slow death hook rig in 23 FOW. Released her to go back to spawn. Was a very fun fight.
Jigged with 1/2 oz jig heads and grubs while drifting the Buoy 1 stretch and picked up a few more eater size fish. By the looks of other reports, looks like black is the color to use on the jig heads with this dirty water. Other boats in the surrounding area seem to have produced very well jigging.
