Buddy and I decided to take the 3 he drive to Chelan and catch some koks but mainly wanted to target macks we got to the state park at around 520 and got our gear ready and headed out to Wapato point at sunrise we pretty much started catching koks rights off the bat and started with a double as we made our way from the point towards the bar we caught another bunch of koks and decided let's try for Mackinaw we trolled the trench the bar with no bites so we moved to the narrows and surrounding areas with 1 missed bite so we moved back to Wapato point and lost 1 mack right at the boat probably a fish around 8lbs or so after about 20 min I trolled right back over the same spot and just let the downrigger ball just drag along the bottom for a few min then the clip just released and Bam a big big fish I reeled it in part way knowing it was a big fish and handed the rod off to my buddy as I reeled up everything else to make sure nothing bad would happen around the downriggers as we first saw the fish I was like holy crap biggest mack I have ever hooked fish looked about 20lbs in the water we netted and noticed something sticking out if his mouth it was a big tail of a northern oike minnow about 13in long we weighed the mack at 15lbs but still biggest mack we have ever caught we we're so stoked we decided to call it a day on a good note and head back over the mountains we kept a total if 7 koks and the 1 mack we probably could of got our kok limit but wanted to try macks way more even though it was a slow go but we'll worth that big fish
