Tried Lake Cassidy again after catching some last Sunday. Arrived at 10am busy boat launch two guys leaving...Went left from launch was a bit windy and partly sunny. Had on Perch colored Rapala #7 floating minnow and silver Rat L Trap on baitcast reel. Started fishing after first dock and bit further down to north as guy in float tube fishing and wanted to give him some space. 2nd cast with spinning reel and got a first of several line tangles. It's new line on reel so not sure why it was acting up today...but was my day for lots of tangles, break off line, untangle and re tie the lure. I had quite the pile by end of the trip. Well, tried close to shore with top water, out deeper with rat l trap. Tried first cove by blue house nothing not even a swirl or wake. Worked my way down to newer dock ran into another fisherman not having any luck either...ducked into 2nd cove and saw some ripples but couldn't get a bump, hit, tap, or swirl. Came out of there and motored and rowed across the lake...my battery was having issues so it was working but more like on speed 1 or 2 not 5. So had to row...wind was constant and blowing from north to south...so figured I could drift and cast down far side...which I did...saw some lily pads poking up two bald eagles and no fish. Hooked the bottom about 4 times with rat l trap (another reason I like top water fishing). Lost one and retrieved the other. Made it to far end no luck and even tried channel that leaves the lake and explored it a bit and lots of promising looking lily pads in there but no fish were home today.
Left at 2:30...got zip, nilch, nata, and worked on my tan some as Sun finally got out of the clouds when I was leaving. Think water needs to warm up and water level is still pretty high.
Good luck out there.
James
