My buddy and I got on the water about 10 a.m. and I hooked up right away. Fished the East end of the lake. Solid and spunky fight on a 5 wt fly rod. Had the area to ourselves, with the exception of the usual osprey and ducks. Large hatch of tiny midges, but only a few chironomiods to be seen. Stuck with the plan to run chironomids below strike indicators and it paid off. Best action was fishing off ledges in about 8 feet of water. My buddy was a greenhorn and he only ended up with two but he was beaming with pride. I put 10 min the net. No fish smaller than 14 and one over 18. Great fights every time. If you are headed there you need to do it soon. Water temp is rising and the mill foil will take over rapidly.
