Fishing has been very steady in the Columbia Gorge! This year, with fewer Spring Salmon opportunities, there have been some huge crowds in these top fisheries! It is important to go into these fisheries with the right mind set and do not expect to have the water to yourself! Remember that everyone out there is there for the same reason you are and we all want a fish! If we work together we will all get opportunities. We are trolling rotating flashers and bait rigs or super baits for these Springers. Because of the crowds, there is a tendency to go slow, but the bite improves when you can speed up to at least 1.5 mph and get your gear working! If your rods are not pumping with hose rotating flashers, you just are not fishing at all! Greens and pinks have been great colors and prawns, herring, and tuna have all been putting fish in the boat! I have 2 seats left open for May 19th if anyone is interested in learning or just experiencing this unique fishery in the Columbia Gorge! Give me a call!
