I fished with my buddy Jay; we launched his Thunderjet out of Seven Bays for a day of fishing the Arm. Instead of a day of fishing we had a day of catching; the two don't always occur on the same day. Anyway we proceeded up the Arm to an area that was an island for the last month but by today is now under water. While it was still barely above the water it created a nice area of slack water on the down river side. We jigged this area for about 3 hours and boated about 60 eyes. We were fishing in 8-12 FOW and would cast our jigs into the current and let it sweep them into the slack water. A black jig head with dark green or brown grubs/worms or senkos produced the best. As the sun rose higher in the sky the bite slowed so we did a lot of fan casting; we caught 4 nice females, two at 23 inches and two at 25 inches. All were released. We moved onto a couple of other areas, nice to have a buddy with a jet, that I would have been hesitant to take my Tracker because of shallow water and fast current. These other areas also produced when we targeted current seams between back eddies and the main, swift current. Our total catch for the day was 1 Burbot, 2 smallies and 105 eyes. We kept 29 between 16 and 21 inches. We released 30-40 eyes that were 15-15 1/2 inches; we told a lot of those fish they were lucky we caught them right before releasing them. Ft Spokane should be usable by this weekend and their fish cleaning station is open; I expect that place to be very chaotic this coming weekend with a lot of pleasure boater and wake boats.

Sounds like fun. I've had those 100 walleye days, but in the past there were a lot of dinks. Now there seems to be better quality along with the quantity.
