Another beautiful day to drop the kayak in at Crabapple Lake. After Monday’s productive day I had to come back and see if I could manage the same luck. Started out drifting bait just below the surface as I did on Monday and managed one small rainbow right off the bat. After about thirty minutes of little action I moved spots and caught another quick rainbow off the same setup drifting the kayak and keeping the bait just below the surface. After that I fished a few other spots that I knew had produced fish the past three times I fished this lake. I ended up with 3 fish on the bait. As I was getting ready to paddle back to the launch I decided to try throwing some lures. Threw on a Kastmaster and BOOM first cast a decent trout came up and nailed it. Landed that one and continued fishing that lure with great success. All said and done I ended up with three fish on the bait and another eight fish on the Kastmaster. Grand total of eleven fish caught and released. Another great day paddling and catching trout. If you want to see bald eagles this is a great place to spot them, I saw another bald eagle today while fishing and have seen them every time I’ve been at this lake. Beautiful little lake with a perfect spot to launch the kayak.
