I told my son Adam, we would go fishing 6-7am. Facebook PM’d each other at 6am I said we would leave at 7. At 7:20 I call him and he had fallen back to sleep.
It was cloudy and one boat was already leaving the launch area for home. Otherwise there were many rigs in the lot. We launched and started fishing about 9am. Adam got the first trout. In 30 minutes the electric quit working. So he got the kicker started for me to get a trout in. We had several bites. But Adam had an appointment so we left at 10:15am.

I guess we could say it was a test for the electric motor. Batteries charged, plug has full volts, water in battery, remote says batteries are low but testing them says not. Motor just shuts off. It took a bit for me to get it stowed because it kept turning off.
The water temp was 67.6. If we have a hot summer this lake will be very hot.
I was from 10-24 feet on the downrigger. Had bites at both levels. Corn was bait but watching my video my lower rod ( green and black lure) with a large pink Berkley maggot the trout seemed to like.

Problem #1 : Just a shot in the dark here, but batteries can be confusing to diagnose.... Sometimes batteries can test good when there is nothing draining them and then voltage will plummet as soon as you ask it supply power (current). Having the battery "load tested" would be a good place to start!

Problem #2 : Im pushing 40 years old now, and I still cant wake up sometimes. Ill actually be dreaming that I'm on time and "catching fish".. continuing on with my day when the phone rings and wakes me up! Cant help here!

Great video! It appears the dodger and lure are attracting them. Maybe different scent to seal the deal? Thanks for the report. Andy

Scent wise I find bloody tuna with or without garlic hard to beat

I have been looking at them but read some reviews about not being so water proof. I plan on using it at fishtrap to see how many no takes I have. wondering how much affect it has on the action of a flasher and squid? Thanks!
