My son Bo came down from Seattle so we could fish. The weather turned out sunny but not too hot. We went to Clear Lake where the water had a chop on it from the breeze. The water temp from the launch was at 62 but it warmed to just past 66 when we were further out on the lake. We started fishing about 7am and we were done with our limits of trout at 9.
My son had the hot side of the boat this time. He had a double within 10 minutes and after his getting bites and fish, I even used his rod to reel trout in. I finally gave in and had him bait my hooks on my rod so I could reel the fish in. It worked. He had the golden touch today. Video shows his smorgasbord.
One thing I found very strange was that at least half the trout were clipped. When did they start clipping hatchery trout?
