Chinook Salmon

Although it is picking up for others, its about one fish a morning each time I go out. The water has been going down and water temp is still cool. Anchoring has shown the best results but back trolling 3.5's and jet drivers can produce. Prawn spinners on the bottom half of the river has caught one also. Tuna Super Baits are still their favorite though. Seeing some sockeye caught and released and its heating up lately. The little one is a 22" summer jack and the bigger one is 32" and it may be a late springer. You can also see my reports on Twitter: @midcolumbiafish
Thanks and good luck!

The larger fish does not look like a typical chinook, looks kind of like an atlantic salmon.

It's a springer. They always have a green back with grey sides when they have been hanging around for a while. Talked to the biologist today and every radio tagged fish they found this morning were springers that haven't made it up river yet.

Also, Atlantic salmon have large spots on the gill plate.

That's not an Atlantic. Chinook for sure.
