I got my 10 2 weeks ago, a friend of mine is still catching limits. 50-65 feet, slow, 1 - 1.3 mph, chartreuse spinners and God's tooth spoons, 12 inches of leader

I don't fish stevens, so I'm talking out of my ass, but.... The derby hurting the fishery probably has less to do with wiping out the population of the lake and more to do with pressuring the fish. Those kokanee have seen about every tackle setup in the book now. If I was down there I think I would try colors and setups that no one else is trying. May be best to go simple too, one of my most productive setups this yesr is just a pink bead above two corn tipped hooks. I hope you figure it out down there, Stevens should get less pressure next year now that it is just one of many lakes in the area with a 10 kokanee separated limit.

I have fished Stevens for years and it seems to be getting worse every year since they began the alum treatments to control the blue green algae. There seem to. be fewer fish, that are thinner and I find the meat to be less red. Kisutch's comment is a valid one, especially as it relates to the depth we are finding the biters. The water is significantly clearer than prior to the alum treatments and I believe that the fish move to deeper depths to feel less pressured by boat traffic.

I agree, less fish in lake year after year. I keep a log..2014 20, 2015 50 and 2026 72 silvers. 2017, 5, 2018, 4. Fish in 20218 are skinny. Was out last week we fished from 5am until 9am. One 13 sinch and one 8 inch. 50-55 feet depth.

I think you guys are onto something. Clear water has fewer nutrients that plankton feed on, and that would affect the whole food chain.
