Well, apparently I'm the only guy who couldn't catch kings in Area 9 this week.

I got up early, launched out of shilshole, and was fishing possession by 5:45am or so. I started at the SE corner and trolled north along the east side of the bar. Didn't mark much of anything, didn't get any bites, and didn't see any caught. Eventually turned back and trolled the horseshoe area. Got a couple dogfish but that was it. I talked to one guy who had a bunch of success the previous days, but no luck Wednesday.

On the ebbtide I finally started trolling the west side of the bar, where I started marking a bunch of fish deep (like 150 ft in 350 feet of water). I made a few passes targeting the deeper fish, but it was getting late by then and I had to head in.

No luck!

Your not the only one. We were banging our balls on the bottom for 5 hrs yesterday on the east and south side of the bar and only released 1 native king.

Two rods in my boat on Wed at Pilot Pt. We got our two nooks and done by 8AM, smooth water. But Thurs different deal. We fished Pilot again for 4-5 hours and nada, saw one fish taken. Went over to Possession, too rough on the westside, went to the SW corner, still rough, trolled for another 2 hours and also nada. Bagged it at noon. But the on line fishchecker report for yesterday showed a 30% success, so somebody is getting fish.

We fished Midchannel Monday morning with three hundred of our closest friends. Saw lots caught all around us, but only got two dogfish ourselves. Tried everything we could think of, but didn’t even get a good takedown. Lots of fish on the sonar too. We were flabbergasted. Still not sure what we were doing wrong.
