This report is for Saturday and Tuesday'
Saturday - Fished with my buddy out of Ft. Spokane. Headed up the Columbia to outhouse flats, neighborly and Wilamont Creek. A hot day but we managed to jig and troll up a limit of eaters. Jigs were effective early and trolling produced to early afternoon. Once the mudlines were everywhere thanks to all of the recreational boaters, honestly it looked like that one scene in Caddyshack, we were able to pick up a few fish in fairly shallow water. Best depths were 15-40 FOW and if you were near any weeds all the better. Blue and silver smile blades worked well.
Tuesday - The haze from all of the smoke made it a little easier for my daughter visiting from Seattle and me to tolerate the heat as we launched at first light out of Ft. Spokane. We headed up the Arm and fished near Blue Creek and buoy 1. Same tactics as on Saturday produced 35-40 eyes but we only kept 11 eaters. Any color smile blade seemed to work and black jig heads with a dark green grub were also good early. The eyes are full of baby crawfish so anything that looks like one is a good bet to get bit.
I know I haven't posted in a while, laziness on my part, but the walleyes are still out there they just take a little longer to find.
