Thursday the weather turned to cloudy, drizzle with winds 8 MPH+ form the Southeast which whipped up the Puget Sound waters. It made for interesting trolling but the Chinook and local area Coho are there so suck it up!
Put in at Kingston and out in the morning twilight, water was rough but fishable, not many boats compared to Tuesday which opened up my fishing lanes somewhat. I decided on the Tomic 6" 140 plug, all white with a pink nose to start, 2 good takedowns, one 22" Coho in the boat but lost a Chinook. Switched over to the 3.5" OG236R Hoochie/Flasher recommended by John Martinez and managed to put a perfect BBQ sized, 24" clipped Chinook in the boat and I was done!!
Most times out of Kingston I work the Appletree Cove area keeping the gear at 90-130 FT in deeper waters but have hooked up in shallow area as well. The 6' Tomic plugs have gotten the majority of takedowns this year. Suggestions from friends is go to 130-200 FT if the fish are there as well as the bait!
On Monday I hooked another Coho on the Gibbs Skinny G spoon No Bananas as well.

Kinda slow at Kingston today. We were in the water at 6, picked up a 12 pound Chinook at tide change around 10 and a 4 pound Coho right after. We only saw one other Chinook taken. We mostly fished the outside of the bar which is where most of the fleet was. Got the nook at 90 feet on the DR, but we fished as deep as 140. Quit at noon. Need some fresh Chinooks. Didn't mark as much bait or fish as we did Tuesday when with two rods we got a 10 and an 18 and done by 8. Word around Edmonds Marina was the oil docks had a good bite early. Flat water except tons and tons of weeds.
