The TPU lake level was still at the August 9 level when I left my house at 6:45am. It said 1186.2. When Kim “Pinkpole” and I got to the lake it was just barely usable. While we were out the level went down a bit. Got home and the website said 1185.4.
When launching the boat I decided this was probably the last time this year. We left the dock at 8am because that was the last time Kim checked to see if the bathrooms were open. Which also means the gate was locked. We came in the exit. This meant we had to take a break away from fishing which was 10-10:30am. We left about 12-12:30. The water was 72-73 degrees.
Kim caught a crappie right away, as she was putting the line out before it was clipped. We had several crappie but that isn’t really what we were looking for.
The only action I had was with the rod that was at about surface to 17 feet. Below that there didn’t seem to be any biters even though the fish finder said there were lots between 30 and 50 feet.

This was one of those days where the hook caught me more than the fish. The main motor starter went out. I had to try to get to the dock on the electric on the bow but I am not very good at maneuvering it. In fact it was a debacle. Thanks to the other man at the dock whose motor wouldn’t start. He moved his boat out of the way and grabbed the rear of my boat as I tried to hold it. Kim was trying to keep the electric motor from hitting bottom because I could not get it to stow. I had turned the prop off but when I set the remote down the prop came back on. The guy said it feels like the boat wants to move away. That’s when I found that the prop was on. I had to turn the remote off and back on to get the motor stowed. Came home and found out that I had driven all the way with the parking brake on. The light is burned out on the dash.
Then I see on the video there were lots of follows that aren’t crappie but I think most were next years fish.
Kim took the 3 photos with pink pole in them.

Geez Toni, you were like the ‘Pied Piper’ of Alder lake. You had half the lake’s fishing chasing you.

Which camera do you use, and what can you describe about how and where you mount it?

Thanks for your report! They’re always entertaining. Sorry about you boat problems though.

motor problem might have been a loose nut holding all the stuff tight by the fuse box. But now everything is tight and CLEANED.
Yes they were attracted to it but I think most were next ears fish which may mean a good next year.
I sent you a pm with the link to facebook video of setup of camera
