My girlfriend’s grandparents own a cabin on Lake Cavanaugh and I was able to fish the lake for the 1st time this weekend!
I fished solo both days and I was able to find fish but WOW!!! These fish are picky!! I tossed everything at them!!
Saturday they liked orange hoochies w/smile blade behind a 50/50 hammered arrow flasher.
Sunday they keyed in on a pink gods tooth behind a Yakima bait fast limit dodger.
I used 3 different flavors of corn.
I marked fish from 30-60 feet deep, but could only get the fish at 44 to bite.
Saturday I ended up with 4 and Sunday I got 5. Got a few skinny cutthroat which I released unharmed.
Showers kept most of the jet skiers and water skiers off the lake.

I can honestly say I didn’t have much confidence in the lure, I used it down at Merwin for a while and didn’t have any luck with it… This time I paired it with a little Yakima dodger and the action of the two was VERY erratic!! And that’s exactly what the fish wanted!!

Thanks for sharing the Merwin info. Not sure what leader length you were using there but to get a more erratic action, I use a 10" leader with a larger size prototype God's Tooth dodger. Using a larger dodger works for me but great to read too that the little Yakima dodger worked good :)
