10/11/2018 8:51:42 PMAlthough MA 10 is closed for Chinook retention, the pictured fish are wonderful to see demonstrating what appears to be a healthy robust hatchery resident Chinook (Blackmouth) population! Make sure everyone knows how to ID all Pacific Salmon species. Tight lines!

10/11/2018 11:16:00 PMYea these are blackmouth. I would advice you to learn to identify salmon to avoid a hefty fine/penalty and to learn how to interpret the regs. I assume (hope) you just made an honest mistake but it could be harder to convince a game warden

10/12/2018 7:22:50 AMI've learned that by the first/2nd week of October all your catching in this area are shakers and small blackmouth. The coho run has moved through. You might fish all day and catch the one odd large buck coho during the first week. The creel reports show the numbers.

10/12/2018 11:32:31 AMGet a paper copy of the regulations and turn to the page where they Id the five species of salmon that migrate in these waters. Then study, study, study. Should not be out fishing for salmon if you cant ID them properly.

10/13/2018 1:42:49 PMNot always. I see ppl always misidentify salmon because of this rule. It really takes learning each species several features to "easily" identify salmon. The gum rule is just a starting point
