Caught some little guys on a drop shot but couldn't connect with anything decent. Fished out to 30 feet around pilings and up under docks in a foot, just loads of fingerlings running all over with my Senko in the shallows! I would prefer the water to cool a bit more as the thermocline on this lake is still at 27 feet. Very light hint of algae here and the water temp was 59*.

Came home, washed the boat, painted up some weights and am ready for the weekend!

Next week's cooler temps should kick things up a notch!

Yesterday I got followed by a good 5 pounder Largie. It was about 4" to 6" behind the 8" to 10" Largie that was on the crankbait. Came all the way to the boat then turned away.

Yesterday and today I've been seeing more fish swimming and just laying there sunning themselves. The 2 bigger fish today didn't want the lures I threw at them, but maybe they'll be active soon. One was about 2lbs and one about 3.

Now that would be the way to catch a 5 pounder. Ya think they would fine you for using Live Bait?

HaHa I hope not. I've heard of people catching a 'second' fish that way. I've only had a big fish grab a little fish on the crankbait once a couple years ago, but the little fish just slipped out of the big fishes mouth and only got the little fish in the boat.

Do they still have that campground at McMurray Lake? I used to camp there when I was on a 2 or 3 day trip.
