I had been dying to get out and fish, but Sunday’s wind was keeping me in.
Decided to hit a small lake like Ballinger. I mostly trolled the South end of the lake, it is deeper than rest of the lake, 35-40’. Trolled a Kokobow in-line spinner with a Sepps dodger, no love was given to me.
Switched to a very small Needlefish, in Cop Car, along with a pinkish dodger. Immediately picked a 12” bow. Bow at 12’ on the braid, in 35’ FOW. Continued like that for some time, no other hits.
I do always catch a plastic bag when trolling in Ballinger, usually 25’ down in 30’ of water. Same thing this time.
Guy on the dock was catching some Cutts via bait, another angler told me.
Met another Hobie angler, fellow NWFR reader as well. Nice meeting you, Thorn. Finally got my DR and rod holder to the other side of Yak. Everything was working much better this time. Great to be out of the garage, and on the water anyway.
