The Packernut and I were back at it on Saturday the 27th. Once again the quality fish were ready to play and the glide baits were their favorite for the day. In fact, all of our fish were caught on them.
Mike started things off with a nice 13 1/2 pounder that measured in at 36". My first fish came in at 9 lbs then we caught them off and on throughout the day. We finished with 11 pike. Our top fish were 14, 13 1/2, 13, 9, 8, a couple of 7 pounders and the rest were in the 27" range. Fish ere in 10-12 feet of water again and a bit scattered. Water temps were 50 all day long and we couldn't have asked for a better day weather wise either. Morning fog burned off and we were treated to sunny skies and temps in the low 60's. We always sit around in the winter dreaming about fishing in shorts and t shirts, but it's days like this one that fill my head all year long. It was such a great day, Mike didn't even take a nap on this trip.
We had a great day but in my opinion, the tribal nets are starting to take a noticeable toll on the number of fish we are catching. in past years we seemed to catch more in numbers along with bigger fish this time of year.

Epic day Mark. This was one of the best days fishing on the water. Weather, company and I almost caught the biggest fish this trip. Looking forward to many more days before the season is over.

Tribal nets decreasing the numbers of fish? Surely you jest!
