Oh what a difference a week makes - no longer around 30' down, today I had to change frequency and turn up the sensitivity
on the sounder and found them down at 48-52 - off with the 3/4oz and on with the 2oz. Long story short,
anything orange, plus a contrasting color - kept 3 and lost 14-15, lost count of them too - just a bit frustrating. I did bring a
heavy pole and a diver and put it down around 80' where I had been marking some larger fish, but no takers here - used all the
usual Koke lures and garlic corn, must have been something else. Water temp was 53deg all day - 8:00 launch at 7 bays was 29deg
and pull out at 2 was 37deg - had the buddy heater on all day - mostly cloudy all day. Trolled hawk creek, but stayed out of the
shallow end due to the draw down. Only a couple of other boats - saw some locals (3) fm 7 bays and they were losing them
as well - rumor has it that there has been some Koke catching further up river around hunters and didn't have to go real deep,
around 50', so there are some in there .................to be continued.

Interesting that you couldn't hook up fish either. We were on the lake last weekend and had the same trouble. Lots of takers but getting them to stay on the hook was another story.
We did get one respectable Koke down near Jones Bay. We have also noticed that there are a lot more of the native fish this year and that they are good size.
Thanks for the report.

thanks for your info - you're right about the "native" (unclipped) fish - I suppose any thoughts and/or comments
could be construed as "stirring" the pot or a s...t disturber - I have been wondering for a few years now if the
redband trout taste any better than spotted owl.

As I commented elsewhere on the forum, I hope the non committal bites are an indicator that the kokanee are beginning to bite. Glad to see that at least some kokes are being caught. Thanks for the report.

Great report! Myself were catching fish much deeper today and they would only hit on down riggers! 30'-50'.
