Fished Jameson Lake with my dad and our fishing buddy Mike. We arrived at the State campground the night before. The wind was blowing a lot of the time during the night and at times with some moderate gusts. We got up in the morning and were out on the lake by about 6:45am. We motored out to our favorite spot and dropped our newly created custom "Jameson Lake" anchor. We were prepared for the infamous Jameson Lake wind. It was not long at all before we landed a few fish. All the fish we caught during the day were between 11 and 13 1/2 inches. We tried 2 different spots on the lake before we got our limit in 3 1/2 hours of fishing. We used worms and different colors of Powerbait. Other people around that we could see were also catching fish. Over the past few years it seems as though opening day has drawn few anglers to this lake. The wind never came up strong enough to really give our new anchor a real test, so I guess we will have to wait until next time.
