I believe that the March 1st opening of several of the Quincy Lakes has been delayed by the winter weather the area has been subjected to this year. It will take a definite change in temperatures for the lake(s) to thaw by fishing derby weekend. Bring your long johns.

I would have to agree. Most everrything is still frozen over and probably will be for awhile longer. I live close to them how about you ?

I live about 10 miles away from Burke Lake. It now looks like things will be another week or two before night time temps might be above freezing,

I agree as well....with the derby changed from the weekend opener to the end of March, I am hoping the weather warms up a bit for good activity. Otherwise, I don't know if they'll postpone it again, or just cancel it for this year. Last years derby was......well, slow....
