I jerked the boat out of storage, gave it a good cleaning and chased walleyes out of Fort Spokane for several days with great results. We located a bunch of “ eaters” by dragging bottom walkers over the flats until we located a productive depth.The bites were subtle and light. Hard to cope with for a rainbow enthusiast with a heathy knee jerk reflex. We found it best to take a chill pill and to begin our hook up with a few turns of the handle before we lifted the pole. A jerking hook set was sure to result in failure. 48-58 FOW was most productive for us. We fished whole crawlers on a 2 hook harness. I was amazed that many of these fish ate the whole thing.
