Stopped by Beaver Lake Thursday afternoon after work to do a little Trout Magnet Fishing. I pretty much stayed close to the launch even though another member was doing well at the far end. Plenty of action with a variety of colors but I always start off with Pink. It was a slow start till I added a split shot to my line. This gave the 1/64th jig head a quicker sink rate which I felt these freshly planted Bow’s were looking for since they tend to be schooled up and in competition for food.
Some decent sized planters are in the lake and also some tiny ones too. I did manage to catch one of the Fall Plants which now come with a stunning red strip and cheeks. Like many of the larger fish that I catch I found a hook buried deep inside and about 2’ of line attached to it. I gave it a quick go to remove the hook but felt it was best to cut the line much closer to the hook and let it go ASAP. I hope to stop by a few late afternoons next week and have some more fun.
