4/11/2019 6:13:58 PMI like them on this lake. I like to make long pitches back into heavy grass and they offer more action than just a weight and plastic rig and don't hang up like a jig.

4/11/2019 7:16:57 PMThey’re pretty great. I’ve done well fishing them in flooded brush back in Idaho before I moved here. Lots of submerged willows there in the spring and this rig came through them very well. One difference for me with them is I’ll fish them in lighter weights down to 1/4 oz in woody cover, whereas punch rigs I think of 1 oz plus and knocking them through mats and pads. My best trailer has been a Missile Baits Baby Dstroyer. Love those things.

4/11/2019 6:16:40 PMI've had some days on this lake so maybe I'm grading on too much of a curve? Was definitely happy with the day just trying to follow the rules and a few bites with long dry spells in between isn't 'consistent' to me. I would catch two, then not a bite for an hour, then catch two, etc. Couldn't really dial in on anything deeper than three feet?

4/11/2019 10:21:14 AMIf it’s the one I’m thinking of it’s basically a Texas rig with a jig skirt at the front of the bait. Basically a jig with better action and comes through cover better.

4/11/2019 11:56:00 AMYup, my thought also, so I did a Youtube search and that's what it is. 'Back then' we used a spinnerbait skirt and bullet sinker that we sometimes pegged.

4/12/2019 11:28:19 AMThat’s pretty much how I do it still except now I use tungsten. Luckily it rarely hangs up since those weights are so pricey.

4/11/2019 11:44:20 AMLove that lake. Between how many tourneys are on it and weather I cant seem to find a weekend to get there... showed up 2 weeks ago to a full lot and tourney since I didnt bother to look. Seems like just about every other week theres one... great fishing b8! I'm jealous

4/11/2019 6:18:21 PMThe good thing about Terrell is the limited parking keeps the lake from getting too overcrowded on a given day...the bad thing is it's a long drive to get there and not be able to find parking.
