Fishing this lake is such a bummer anymore. It has been on a steady decline ever since they started spraying the pads and it's going to take years to return to its former glory...if it ever does?! Sad. This place 20 years ago was amazing. Now it's just perpetual algae blooms and large clumps of green slime floating everywhere.

It's been slow to warm this year but I've been blanked all three times I've gone, and that's just not right??

Add to that the explosion of cormorants and this lake may be doomed.

Found myself surrounded by stickers at one point so I tied on a spinner and caught 5 on 7 casts...only because two shook off.

That was it...didn't even see bass on the graph on some of my best spots. Weird. Oh well, Snohomish, Whatcom and King will see the bulk of my business this year I guess?! Especially cause Big Lake has SUCKED too :(

Wow...thanks for the report!
I’ve never fished this lake but I want to. After this report I may just stay away!
It's supposedly one of the best lakes close to me and I want to target the Crappie it’s reported to have.

Guess I’ll just have to drive further from home....

Hell, if you can’t catch ‘em Clear, B8, most of the rest of us are in trouble!

I'm sure there's still bass in there and I'm sure people will catch them, it just sucks what I've seen happen to this lake over the last decade. Skagit County really needs to put their ecosystems before their crybaby lakefront homeowners.....I'm going to stop now :/

Did you try really shallow behind pads really close to shore? That is pattern I find them on top water there in May. Like 1/2 ft to 2-3 ft of water.
